Quite simply, a unique piece of Manchester City history from one of the most important and dramatic matches the club has ever played.

This is an original matchday programme and match ticket from Manchester City’s legendary 1999 Second Division Play-Off Final victory over Gillingham at Wembley Stadium, with the programme personally signed by an incredible collection of players and figures from that unforgettable City side.

The programme has been signed by:

Joe Royle, Nicky Weaver, Richard Edghill, Lee Crooks, Andy Morrison, Gerard Wiekens, Tony Vaughan, Ian Bishop, Jeff Whitley, Michael Brown, Kevin Horlock, Gavin Taylor, Paul Dickov, Shaun Goater and Jim Whitley.

Bringing together so many names from that famous squad on one original Wembley programme makes this an exceptional piece of City memorabilia in its own right.

And what a match it represents.

On 30th May 1999, Manchester City looked destined for another season in English football’s third tier when Gillingham took a 2–0 lead with only minutes remaining. What happened next has become part of City folklore.

Kevin Horlock gave City hope before Paul Dickov’s dramatic equaliser deep into stoppage time produced scenes of absolute bedlam amongst the travelling Blues. After extra time, Nicky Weaver became the hero of the penalty shoot-out, sparking that unforgettable celebration as City completed one of the most dramatic victories in Wembley history.

It is often said that without Wembley 1999, the Manchester City we know today may never have happened. This was the afternoon that stopped the decline and began the long journey back through the divisions and, ultimately, towards the very top of English and European football.

Adding even greater collectability, the programme is accompanied by an original matchday ticket from the fixture, bringing together two genuine pieces from that historic Wembley afternoon.

The signed programme is supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity and provenance, providing confidence in the history of this remarkable collection of signatures.

For supporters who were there, this is pure nostalgia. For any serious Manchester City collector, it represents a unique opportunity to own an original programme and ticket from arguably the most important victory in the club’s modern history, enhanced by the signatures of so many of the men who made it happen.

Wembley 1999. Horlock. Dickov. Weaver. The day Manchester City began the journey back.

A truly special piece of Manchester City history.
