Two City favourites. Two personally obtained signatures. One fantastic piece of Manchester City history.
A superb A5 photograph personally signed by both David Phillips and Paul Simpson, celebrating one of the great Maine Road occasions of the 1980s – City’s unforgettable 5–1 victory over Charlton Athletic on 11th May 1985.
A packed Maine Road witnessed Billy McNeill’s side produce the perfect final-day performance to secure promotion back to the First Division after a two-year absence. More than 40 years later, it remains one of those genuine “I was there” occasions for a generation of City supporters.
Both David Phillips and Paul Simpson were instrumental during that memorable promotion campaign and became hugely popular with the Maine Road faithful. This photograph brings the two together, meaning you’re not simply buying a signed photograph of one former City player – you’re getting the signatures of two key members of that famous promotion side on one fantastic piece.
Even better, both signatures were personally obtained at a private signing organised by Mark, providing excellent provenance and making this a particularly attractive item for autograph and Manchester City memorabilia collectors.
For supporters who remember that glorious afternoon in the Maine Road sunshine, this is a wonderful piece of nostalgia. For younger Blues, it’s a chance to own a genuine signed connection to an important chapter in the club’s history.
Two signatures, one iconic City memory and over 40 years of history – all in one collectible.
Supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.
