A simply fantastic and increasingly iconic Carlos Tevez match-worn and signed Manchester City shirt from the unforgettable 2011/12 Premier League title-winning season.

The 2011/12 campaign was one of the most dramatic seasons in Manchester City history and a particularly turbulent one for Tevez. Following his well-publicised fallout with manager Roberto Mancini, Tevez spent a significant period away from first-team action before being brought back into the side during the closing stages of the season.

His return proved important. Tevez contributed during the title run-in as City went on to secure their first English league championship in 44 years, culminating in the extraordinary final day against Queens Park Rangers.

Because of the limited number of appearances Tevez made during that campaign, genuine shirts with strong provenance from the 2011/12 season are particularly difficult to find, making this a very special example.

This shirt was personally sourced by Mark directly through Barnardo’s, after the charity had received Tevez shirts from the season for fundraising purposes. That provenance gives the piece an excellent documented history.

The exact fixture is currently unknown, but the shirt shows visible signs and marks consistent with match use, which can be clearly seen in the photographs. It has also been personally signed by Carlos Tevez, adding another level of collectability to an already significant Manchester City shirt.

Tevez was hugely popular with City supporters for his relentless work rate, aggressive all-action style and remarkable goalscoring ability. At his best, he was one of the most exciting forwards in English football and played a major role in Manchester City’s rise to the top of the game.
