Description

A superb piece of original late-1980s Manchester City memorabilia – an official-style 500-piece jigsaw puzzle featuring the City squad at the beginning of the 1989–90 season.

The puzzle features a classic Manchester City summer squad photograph following Mel Machin’s promotion-winning 1988–89 campaign, which had taken the Blues back to the First Division.

Of particular interest to City collectors, the image includes new summer signings Ian Bishop and Clive Allen, who joined the club ahead of the 1989–90 campaign, making this a wonderful snapshot of City at the beginning of a memorable new season back in the top flight.

The jigsaw is complete with all 500 pieces and its original box and remains in fantastic condition for its age.

Items such as this are a wonderful reminder of a different era of football merchandise and make increasingly interesting additions to a wider Manchester City memorabilia collection. With the original box and complete puzzle surviving together, this is a particularly attractive example.

A real keepsake for the dedicated City collector and a fantastic display piece celebrating a memorable period in the club’s Maine Road history.
