Description
A fantastic colour photograph personally signed by Brazilian midfielder Geovanni, capturing the moment he celebrates one of the most memorable Manchester City derby goals of the 2000s.
On 19 August 2007, City faced Manchester United at the City of Manchester Stadium during the exciting early weeks of the Sven-Göran Eriksson era. Geovanni produced the decisive moment, unleashing a spectacular long-range strike to secure a famous 1–0 victory over United and continue City’s excellent start under their new Swedish manager.
The Brazilian quickly became known for his ability to produce something spectacular, but this particular strike ensured his place in Manchester derby folklore. The sight of Geovanni celebrating that winning goal remains a fantastic memory for City supporters who witnessed the beginning of what felt like an exciting new chapter for the club.
Although Geovanni’s Manchester City career would ultimately prove relatively short-lived, that goal against United will never be forgotten.
Adding excellent provenance, this photograph was personally signed by Geovanni at Manchester City’s Carrington training ground in January 2008, during his time as a City player.
The photograph is supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity, providing confidence in the history and provenance of the signature.
A brilliant piece of Manchester City nostalgia that would look superb framed in any home, office, man cave or memorabilia collection, and a fantastic opportunity for City supporters and autograph collectors to own a signed reminder of a classic Manchester derby victory.
